Font: Synaps

Monday 24 January

The thing which makes intelligence possible in our brain are synapses. Letters are connected to each-other and look like these synapses.

REACTIONS: Lucas: giving biology classes. Maybe intellegence is some kind of electrical thing.

Tuesday 25 January

How to connect my letters so they look nice together.

REACTIONS Lucas: Connections are important. It's all thanks to the synapses.(Don't they look a lot like stems?)

Wednesday 26 January

The letterforms now all have connection points, so they can connect with their left and right letter, and letters on top and on the bottom.

There were a lot of reactions on the "grid-like" structure that will result from these letterforms. Synapses are not very much like a grid, and representing them like an interconnected mess would be much clearer. However, you bump into the limits of classical fonts this way, so the programming in the second week will be very important to represent this idea.

Synaps

Finnish (SINAPPI) == mustard

Less connections between the letters look better. Looks much more alive now. Next week to program it so that letters start to grow when you type it.

You could do that thing manually.

Try to make letters that connect on top and bottom.

Effect will be betters with letters space widely.
